Peace Lutheran Preschool & Pre-K reaches out to the children of Peace and the community to share God’s love with young children. We provide a loving, stimulating Christian environment that encourages growth in all areas of development: spiritual, social-emotional, physical, and intellectual. We enroll students from all denominations and welcome all children.

Philosophy
The Preschool & Pre-K years are a time for children to grow in awareness of one’s self, of others, and of the environment. Our school offers activities that encourage each child to explore, investigate, discover, and experience his or her world and the world around them. These experiences help the child to develop a rich background that will enhance future learning not only in the academic sense, but in their faith as well--building upon the foundation of knowing that Jesus loves them.
Curriculum
We will provide a stimulating and pleasant environment responsive to each child’s needs. The curriculum for Preschool aged children (3 and 4yr olds) will be focused and designed with age appropriate activities to teach, grow and enrich their social-emotional development; with an introduction to basic academic skills/areas such as language, math, science, art, music, religion, etc. as well as physical and intellectual development. The curriculum areas for Pre-K aged children (4 and 5yr olds) will include language/pre-reading/writing, math, social studies, science, art, music, physical education, health, and religion. Curriculum activities for Pre-K classes are designed and taught based upon South Dakota’s Early Learning Guidelines for Kindergarten Readiness. Our Preschool and Pre-K has a Christian emphasis. The children will hear Bible stories, sing songs, and learn concepts of sharing, caring, loving and forgiving.
School Year
Preschool & Pre-K sessions will start in September and continue through May. We follow the Sioux Falls School District Calendar very closely and will provide all families who have their child(ren) enrolled into our program with a calendar of no school days as well as important dates, during our Parent Information Night that takes place in the month of August.
